Your will be done

I remember being in middle school thinking that I would REALLY give my life FULLY to God when I was in college.

See, I loved God, but I loved other things too. I figured that I could do what I want presently and then pursue God later—because I knew living a life for Him was the right things to do.

I just didn't want to go all in now.

Tomorrow is codeword for never (movie quote). And that's no way to live.

Matthew 6:10 says "Your will be done..."

This word "will" (2307) means the act of willing, what one prefers, wish, good pleasure. So basically we are saying, God I want what YOU prefer over what I want.

The word "done" (1096) is so rich, it means to cause to be, to become or come into being or existence, break out, dawn, be finished. To be prepared, made ready. Implying a change of state or condition. Change or transition to another place.

WOW. Put all that together and we are saying "here and now, let what God prefers be done—made ready, come into existence, break out, be complete— in my life.

I don't know about you, but this is the kind of heart posture I want to have before the Lord. Praying the same for you!
