An Apology

I wanted to apologize for the spam blog many of you received earlier this week. I greatly appreciate you as friends and readers and know that your time and inbox is valuable. The issue resulted from an unknown problem within our website provider—something out of my control. They have assured me that this issue has been resolved and will not happen again. Thank you for your patience with the puppy-dog spam email.

Here is the correct blog scheduled to be sent this past Tuesday. I hope it blesses your heart as you enter into the summer months.

Your friend,

Jamie Kay

Rest = Rebalance. Reminding. Restoring.

It’s in break-away seasons of rest that God has the opportunity to rebalance our hearts and spirits. Rebalancing of soil nutrients is one of the benefits of a fallow period. These are extended seasons where what we do is replaced with who God is. Where producing is replaced with His presence. Where our primary focus shifts from what we are called and destined to achieve, and realigned to who we are destined to be.

It’s a season of reminding. Reminding us of His promises for our lives and families, and rebalancing our perspective of what’s truly important. Reminding us that our lives rest firmly in His hands. Reminding us that what we do could never replace who He is, that relationship is vastly more important than religion, and that He has and always will be our Provider.

Seasons of rest restore the faith we need for the journey ahead and speak promise into our future. Seasons of rest also break down pest and disease cycles in our lives. Growing up, my pastor always said that you’re crazy if you think you can do the same thing you’ve always done, but expect different results.

Some of us, including myself, have wrong patterns and mindsets ingrained in our lives that can only be broken by a season of rest. This is a season where we redirect some of our efforts away from achieving, and toward our relationship and personal time with Jesus.

Jesus holds and always will hold the power to change a life. To change our lives.

For me, life change is not a one-time event, but rather a process. Yes, there are moments where Jesus does break cycles and patterns in my life to give me victory, but the process of transformation is endless on this side of heaven.

There’s always more God wants to teach me and reveal to me. It’s during these seasons of rest that I intentionally redirect my time and energy to His word. Many times, this is when I experience the breakthroughs I need in my life. Miracles I have been praying for seem to fall effortlessly into my lap.

"It’s funny: when I decrease, He always seems to increase, meeting my deficit with His abundance."
