New Year and Forgiveness

Maybe this is the verse for your NEW YEAR that will bring new levels of freedom to your life.

Matthew 6:12a "And forgive us our debts..."

Before we can even dive into this in the weeks to come we have to understand: What is forgiveness?

This word "forgive" (863) in the original Greek means: To send forth or away, to let go from oneself, to let go from one's power and possession, to let go free, let escape. To let go from obligation towards oneself, to remit a debt or offense, to pardon. To let go from one's further notice, care, attendance, occupancy, to leave alone, dismiss.

So maybe the freedom many of us are craving is found through the pathway of forgiveness.

My prayer for 2025 is that we learn to "let go" and "forgive," because unforgiveness is a weight we were never meant to carry.
