"... my cup runs over." Psalm 23:5C
In studying the original Hebrew I came across a translation that was more accurate word for word in relation to the Hebrew meaning. It said this:
"All of my holdings and possessions will abundantly overflow to fill my needs."
Wow. Wow. Wow. When we go deeper in scripture we find a treasure house of meaning that is relevant to our lives.
It is so easy as times to worry about the financial issues that are pressed upon us. We ask ourselves questions like:
Will I have enough provision today?
Will I have enough provision for the future?
What if the very thing I feared from the past repeats itself in my future?
Here is our promise for this week from Psalm 23: if we are following our Good Shepherd, stewarding His direction to the best of our ability, He will provide. And He won't just provide enough to get by. David says in this passage that ALL of his holdings and possessions will ABUNDANTLY OVERFLOW to fill his every need.
The same promise stands true for you and I, my sweet friend. Let's focus on following our Shepherd and trust that on the journey He will provide above and beyond everything we will ever need.
