I know many of you heard about my new book launching this spring entitled Courage to Walk. I couldn't be more tearfully-excited about it's launch on May 18th, 2022—just in time to be the perfect crowning-companion for your easy breezy pool days of summer.
Here's an excerpt from the back cover—a sneak peak of content:
"I’ve always wanted to be a colossally courageous person. In my mind’s eye courage frequently portrayed the picture of me storming into enemy lines with a water pistol in my hand, rescuing destitute captives and somehow saving the day in ways that were impossible for the average person.
Attached to courage was an act—an act that others deemed courageous. Defined by how much I could accomplish in a day, a week, a year, a decade. And if God were for me, I could do it all, be it all, achieve it all—leaving little margin for error. Earning the applause of man, yet inwardly aching at the chasm that grew between where my life was and what it was meant to be in God.
The pursuit of my self-defined courageous life was exhausting, and I humbly brought my overloaded self back to the feet of Jesus. I laid my weighty plate before Him and asked Him to redefine my view of true courage. As I walked with Him in obedience, I began to discover what true courage is, as defined by the word of God."
This has been a book decades in the making—literally due to the fact that God has been whispering this message to my heart all while molding my character in the process. He has done such a deep work in me over these last few years, I'm baffled as to where to begin.
Equally uncomfortable and unimaginably-cherished, God has been honing in on what it means for me personally to live a courageous life in His eyes.
Of course, I couldn't simply know what courage was in valuable head knowledge alone, God has required me to live it out—which is more easily said than done. Day by day. Step by step. I'm learning. Walking down a path, seemingly unknown, learning to have simplistic faith in God and joy on the journey even amidst the not-knowing.
Courage to Walk is an attempt to write God's workings depicted through stories, scripture and vulnerability—which in the end I hope will scratch the surface of God's heart for you. It's another table reader so for those of you who love pictures, you're in for a real treat. My husband has upped his game in this book. The design has left me breathless.
"My prayer is that it helps guide you closer to Jesus during this season, living the courageous life He's always dreamed for you to live."
