"He leads me in the paths of righteousness ..." Psalm 23:3B
Do you ever find yourself worrying about whether or not you will choose the right way to go? We've all been there, but this passage in Psalm 23 assures us that God will not leave us, He will lead us in the right path for our lives.
The word leads (5148) in the original Hebrew means: to lead, to guide in the right direction or proper path. It connotes spiritual guidance, being kindly treated, blessing, deliverance, protection and wisdom. So when David says that God leads him, He has ever aspect of leading your life covered.
The word righteousness (6664) means, in right relation to an ethical or legal standard where God Himself acts in righteous judgement and deliverance. God is not a hands-off type of God. He is involved in every aspect of leading you on the correct paths in life.
And get this, the word David chose to use for paths is actually one that can refer to a path that encircles the camp. It's as if he is saying that God leads us in circular cycles of righteousness. Again and again He leads us, round and round, in a path that is well-known by Him.
God is committed to your growth so don't fear.
Trust that He will guide you on the correct path, for your past, present and future.
