A Match Made in Heaven

I found your soul mate. The One you've been desperately searching to find. When I say He's a dream, that's an understatement. My jaw dropped when I first met Him and my heart beat out of my chest. Out of a thousand, no a trillion, in a room, He outshines them all. He's your perfect match in every way. And guess what?

His schedule is wide open!

He can do a coffee date anytime this week. You name the time and place. He even said that He's free to meet you every day, if your schedule permits. For some reason, He's just bursting at the seams to be with you. I know when you meet Him and get to know Him you will feel the same way about Him. He will blow your expectations and hopes out of the water.

God wants you to know Him the way He knows you.

When I talk about knowing God, it’s not just about knowing who God is in the Bible, it’s about

knowing how that translates to your life, your day to day. I’m talking about really knowing Him, like you would your spouse or children.

I know more than just a description of my children, I know their quirks, their loves, the creases on their brows. When I close my eyes, I can see my children in my mind’s eye. I can see their smiles, the beautiful coloring of their sparkling eyes and their precious faces. I can see the freckles on Noella’s nose and the gorgeous grin on Selah Faye’s face, missing tooth and all! I can see inside too—their hearts, their spirits, the special people God has created them to be.

If I imagine hard enough I can feel their little bodies next to mine snuggling me on a cold winter morning. When I think of my children, my mind fills with memories of the past and hopes for the future …

This is the way God thinks of you.

And this is the way God wants you to know Him. He wants your life to be filled with memories of Him and what you've been through together. Coffee dates. Late night talking sessions. Walks in the park. Daily cherishing His love letter, left for you. A life of learning to hear His voice, so the very instance He speaks, you know it's Him. Memories of Someone who is so precious to you that when you close your eyes, you can imagine Him right next to your side.

You know the contours of His face and the moment He gently touches your heart. You feel His arms around you and see the love in His eyes as you journey together daily. You know the unseen, too: His character, His heart, and the deep love He has for you and others. A lifetime spent knowing the One who intimately knows you.

So when's your next coffee date with God?

"Don't bypass the richness of Jesus for flavorless fancies that will never satisfy. You will find more satisfaction in ten minutes of deep connection with God than ten years spent on your own pursuits."
